Espiar, the Spanish carmaker, has long been an underappreciated player in the automotive industry, but its rise to prominence has been aided by the internet.
The company is known for its affordable, high-tech vehicles, but it also operates a number of car brands, including Jaguar Land Rover and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
Now, Espiar is being valued at $1.3 billion and is valued at more than $30 billion.
In recent years, Espar has been acquiring brands from the luxury car and sports car industries, like Audi and BMW.
But as its market value has grown, it has also been acquiring more and more high-end brands, from Porsche to BMW.
Here are five ways to become a top car salesman.
Be the first to tell someone that you are interested in working for them.
Espiar’s acquisition of luxury brand Jaguar Landrover and Mercedes-Benz cars, along with the acquisition of Fiat Chrysler, have resulted in a massive influx of talent into the company.
But you don’t have to go all in to make it.
Some high-earning employees, like CEO and cofounder Alex Cossette, have been able to leverage the brand equity of the brands they work for to leverage more opportunities.
If you have an idea that you want to work for, it’s worth it to get in touch with a recruiter who is also an expert at working with brands.
Start by being very upfront.
The first step is to be very upfront about the role you want and what you’re interested in.
This is especially important if you’re trying to land a position that involves a lot of travel or high-level executives.
Be as clear about your position as possible.
“It is really important to be clear about what you want,” says Tom DeFalco, a marketing and sales executive at Cargill.
“I would definitely avoid saying that you’re going to be a salesperson, but you should be clear in terms of what you would be interested in and how you’d be interested.
This could be the first interview that you have, and you need to be sure to convey that.”
“Don’t be like a sales person and be all over the place, and don’t ask people to do things you don-t want to do,” says DeFalcom.
“There is a risk of someone not being able to make a connection to you, and they may feel like they’re missing out.”
In the same vein, “Be careful not to say you’re a car salesman or marketing manager, because you’re not,” says Cossett.
“If someone says they’re a salesman, and I’m interested, but they have no knowledge about the brands, they are probably not,” adds Cosset.
“Make sure you’re asking a lot, because it’s easy to get distracted and forget to get things done.”
Work with an experienced recruiter.
If a job offer is just around the corner, you need someone to help you get through it.
DeFalcor says he has worked with many of his fellow employees, and he’s learned a lot from each of them.
“A lot of times, people who have been working for me for years are the ones who tell me they are interested and want to join,” he says.
“And when they join, they tend to have a lot more experience than the ones that have been around for a while.”
Work on your strengths.
A recruiter is the first person you talk to about a position, and she’ll give you a lot to think about.
If the job is something you’re excited about, then you’ll be much more likely to respond positively.
“You don’t need to think of what your main skill set is, and just be sure you get into a position where you’re well-suited,” says Cara, who has worked as a recrucer at a number, including Ford, Toyota, and Volkswagen.
“As long as you have some kind of strong connection with the brand, you can do it.
There’s nothing more rewarding than to have someone say yes to your application.”
