WhatsApp’s newly announced ‘whatsApp profile pic’ feature is meant to help you quickly and easily find your WhatsApp messages, contacts and phone number, in the event that your phone is lost or damaged.
The feature is currently only available on Android and Apple devices, and requires you to connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
WhatsApp has already made the feature available to users in the United States, and now it’s rolling it out to UK users.
The app, which is in beta right now, works like this: The app will show a screen similar to the one shown above, but with the WhatsApp logo superimposed on top.
When you first open the app, you’ll see a bunch of options that will vary by country and device: You can either add the WhatsApp app to your Google account, which lets you add WhatsApp contacts to your calendar and other contacts in your phone, or you can click the link at the bottom of the screen and select the ‘WhatsApp Profile Pic’ option.
Once you’ve done that, the app will take you to a page where you can select a picture of your WhatsApp profile picture.
On the top left of the page, you can see a list of all your WhatsApp contacts.
Tap on any of the contacts to see more information about them, including whether they’re public or private, how many messages they’ve sent, and what kind of photos they’ve posted on the app.
The ‘whisper profile pic’, on the other hand, lets you view a small, black bar on the right side of the image and then scroll through a list until you see a picture you like.
If you click the ‘share’ button, you’re able to share the picture with a few WhatsApp friends in your Google+ group.
The WhatsApp profile pic feature is available on all of WhatsApp’s UK apps, including the WhatsApp Desktop app, WhatsApp Desktop mobile app, and WhatsApp Messenger.
WhatsApp is also rolling out the feature to other European countries, including Germany, Belgium, Spain, Denmark, and Sweden.
WhatsApp will also be rolling out support for its WhatsApp Cloud services across its other countries.
