On Monday, the app announced a new privacy & security policy, which includes some of the more controversial elements of Whatsapp, including what is known as “anti-abuse” features, a feature which is used by WhatsApp to monitor your usage and track your location.
In the new privacy statement, Whatsapp said:The company also says that it will not “use your data or other personal information to deliver or manage advertising”, adding that its ad targeting system “will be completely opt-in”.
Whatsapp is a messaging app for Android that allows users to share images, video, and other media and messages across a large number of services, including WhatsApp.
WhatsApp says it has been working on a new version of the app, but the new version will not be ready until later this year.
The new privacy document also said the app will be able to see what you post, “even if you delete it”.
“The app can track what you share on your device and what you do online,” the document said.
The company said it would continue to improve its privacy policies.
“We are committed to improving our policies to ensure that everyone can access Whatsapp securely and responsibly,” the company said.
