Android users will have to wait a little longer for their app updates as Whatsapp is introducing a new update for its app.
Users will be able to download the new version of Whatsapp on Android, and iOS users will get a “beta” version on Tuesday, the company announced on its blog.
The company said that the beta version of the app will have a new “design and interface” and that the app is “now the most-used mobile app on Android in the world.”
The new version is available now in the Google Play store and the App Store for Android.
Users who upgrade to the new Whatsapp version will get an extra five days of free WhatsApp messages.
“For us, Whatsapp’s new version brings better user experience and performance improvements to our users,” said Rishi Rao, head of product management at Whatsapp.
Whatsapp, which is owned by Facebook, also announced a new product called “Chat for Work” which aims to make it easier to stay connected.
Users can now share photos, video and text between the two devices using the new app.
