We have some good news to share with you today: “Girls” is returning to MTV on October 4th.
As MTV confirmed to Deadline, the new season will feature more than just the usual cast members returning for the final season.
“The most exciting thing about the season is that the characters, their storylines, their dynamics, the friendships that we’ve built over the last seven seasons are all going to be in place,” says Vinnie Jones, co-creator and executive producer of “Girls.”
“And they’re all going into this new place where they’re really bonded.
And the story that we have is so compelling, so emotional, that we want to bring that back into the show.”
“Girls,” currently airing on Lifetime, will be back for its final season on October 19th, 2018.
The show, which won the 2017 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series for “Girls With Chips,” premiered in 2013 and has garnered more than 13 million viewers.
It will be the final episode of season six.
“Girls with Chips” is a spinoff of the TV series “Glee,” which ran for five seasons on Nickelodeon.
