Whatsapp is already the most popular mobile messaging app in the world, with more than 100 million users worldwide.
It’s also one of the fastest-growing services in the app store.
And while the company says it has more than 10 billion active users worldwide, there’s still room for growth.
“We think it’s going to become a major player in the market,” says Jochen Voss, founder and CEO of iMessenger, which offers WhatsApp video calling as well as a video-calling service called Insta.
“There are already some people who are using WhatsApp for voice calling, but now they can also use it for video calling.”
WhatsApp is now a $200 billion company, making it one of Facebook’s largest companies.
But it’s also facing competition from other mobile messaging services like Viber, WhatsApp and Line.
While WhatsApp has long been used as a text messaging service, Voss says the company is now going after video calling.
“With the advent of the Web 2.0 era, WhatsApp is seeing an opportunity to grow beyond just messaging,” Voss said.
“Its a lot easier for us to build something that’s more powerful and easier to use.”
The company is using some of the same technology that’s powering Facebook’s Messenger app.
Voss believes that, if WhatsApp can continue to evolve, its users will gravitate toward the app.
“When you see a lot of innovation, people tend to gravitate to it,” he said.
Whatsapp has also made its presence felt in the advertising world, which has long used WhatsApp for its video messaging features.
“We’ve found that advertising can really benefit from a messaging app that can help users get more engaged,” Viss said.
